The difference between b2b and b2c marketers

The difference between b2c and b2b marketers? From my experience, here are what I think are the major differences:
  • b2b marketers work with a tighter budget but are expected to be highly accountable for revenue and lead generation results.
  • b2b marketers usually handle the mish-mash of marketing functions including: direct marketing, copywriting, online marketing, website issues whereas our b2c counterparts may be more specialised - separated by branding, online marketing, copywriters, etc.
  • there is this illusion or assumption that b2b marketing is more "boring" and "less glamorous" than b2c. I disagree, it just depends on what interests you.
  • b2b marketing means you have less opportunities to test - so, b2b marketers tend to have to get it right the first time.
